Legacies

Every year we see an increase in the number of animals that need our help, and this trend is unlikely to change. As an independent charity we rely solely on the generosity of people like you and your family and friends to enable us to carry out our work. Would you like to be part of our work, not only now but also in the future? Remembering the Humane Education Society in your will with a financial donation will ensure that you continue to help animals that are in desperate need of care. There are a number of ways in which you can include the Sanctuary in your will:

• A residuary gift is a percentage of the value of your estate after all charges have been paid.
• A pecuniary gift is a specified sum of money to be left to us.
• A specific gift is the gift of a nominated item which we can then use or sell, for example jewellery or a property.

If you have already made your will there are ways in which you can change it or add to it without incurring large charges. In discussions with your Solicitor, you will need our registered charity name (The Humane Education Society) and our registered charity number (1159571).

Generally money left to us will be used for veterinary fees, food and other ongoing running costs. If you would like your legacy to be used for a specific project, for instance an outdoor cat run or winter exercise area for the equines, please ring us (01625 520802) and ask to speak to the manager.

In Memoriam

The loss of a loved one is an incredibly difficult time. For families who are animal-lovers, requesting donations to an animal charity rather than flowers at a funeral is a touching tribute.
